Nature's Beauty in a Concrete Jungle

Living in the suburbs of L.A., I'm always complaining about how tired I am of this generic world I live in and how I want, crave to be somewhere where nature still lives, especially before my kids begin to think that concrete and asphalt is all there is in this world.

Then today while outside washing the car, I could hear the cry of a hawk but I couldn't see one anywhere.  I've seen them flying around occasionally, but not often and not close enough to really get a good look at them.  All of a sudden, the cries grew closer.  I looked up and sitting on the power pole right next to my house are two baby hawks.  I hoped against hope that when I ran into the house to get my camera they wouldn't leave, and they didn't. Upon closer inspection once the pictures were uploaded in my computer, I noticed that one of the birds has a band around it's leg.  It seems someone's keeping tabs on that one. They hung out for about a half hour before two others came by and then they all flew off together.

What a special gift! Neat to know that your prayer was answered in a way you could share with many others.
