Are You Ready For the $12 Cup of Coffee? - Starbucks or Peets Coffee can't be far Behind

This is it - the $12 cup of coffee. Don't be dismayed. It comes in a round siphon pot, so there is more to drink, if you can afford it.

If you want to learn more about the Blue Bottle Coffee Co and its different coffees here is the link to their web site.

They also do a cold drip coffee process.  A drop of water passes down into the glass ball then proceeds down the tube into the coffee grounds one drop at a time soaking up the flavor of the coffee.  The coffee tasted very clean and light, someone said it was like a fine whiskey with out the alcohol.

With the coffee grounds in the top glass holder the water is brought to a very hot boil  using a halogen light, (no gas is used for the fire) it takes about ten to fifteen minutes to make a cup of this coffee.   If you got the money and time, the Blue Bottle Coffee Company has the coffee for you.

The Blue Bottle Coffee Company owns the only five burner vacuum machine coffee maker of this kind which cost about $20,000 and is the only one in the USA out side of Japan, so I am told.

With the vacuum process well under way the barista tends the  coffee w/a gentle steer, smells  the coffee in the siphon pot till it's just right and ready to be served.

The vacuum process now complete the coffee is now ready to be served in the siphon pot.

A first time customer enjoys her coffee.  I tasted a cup and was struck by how clean and light the coffee tasted there was no bitter flavor or back bite.  I could get to like this type of coffee.

Thanks Pam, yes, we out here on the west cost did hear that Starbucks was in a slight downturn...Maybe as new marking ploy they could sell less coffee but at a higher price and make more money...yes...no...just a thought, although maybe not a the best one, just trying for some breakthrough thinking on the coffee subject.

Guess i haven't been in one of the stores in a while. I also heard about the closings and we are hoping the one they put in our neighbhood won't be a victim as it was a battle to get the city to approve the location.

I shot this tabblo with the Canon G9 I keep this camera with me almost all the time just in case, one never knows if there is going to be an earthquake or such. I carry a full camera bag, a 30D in my car at all the times. I am very happy w/the G9 it's quite a camera for its small size.
