Trail Sign

Last weekend, near the END of a hike, I saw this sign and thought, well, I must not have disturbed or cornered a rattler. I felt good or more like lucky. I continued onto the end of the trail...

...took a picture of this dead tree...

...crossed over a dry creek...

... looked back at where I came from to make sure I didn't miss anything....

....ahh, saw another dead tree opportunity...

.....then all of a sudden, I felt like I was cornered.

LOL, you have a great eye! :) Sssssssssssssssss -------< the illustration helps too, for those of us who aren't as astute. <G> ... Love the colours for this as well, a couple of my favourites, and they go great with the natural setting of your photos. :)

Great camouflage. That rattler looks just like a lump of rock. Must be one of those very rare chameleon rattlesnakes. Fortunately, they don't move very quickly, so you were never in any real danger :)

That's big enough to start running for your life. I would be sooooo glad to to have seen a snake. Wonderful shots Jude :-))

Neat hike through beautiful country... love the way you talked us through it... was almost hoping for a real snake at the end (just for a photo... but that would have been very scary)... the rock looks very menacing...
