Digital Haze

The beauty that is digital may seem to be known by many people as graphics. Defined by pixels, resolution and file type, images color the digital world. As the old saying goes, "A picture is worth more than a thousand words." Perception of sight is far more than just being able to see the abstract colors and hues of our world. It is being able to appreciate the works of others and looking how detailed it is to get the essence of that one picture.

I've always believed in this. Just having the capacity to be able to create thousands of images out of one click from your mouse is spectacular. Manipulating a gray dull photo and turning it into a vibrant rainbow of reds, greens and blues is something that I will never give up. I'd like to thank Adobe Photoshop for that.

Adobe Photoshop is a program designed to edit and create new images. All it takes is one click and the program loads giving a gray space where you can practice your magic tricks. From this, you can play God and create amazing photos with the numerous possibilities and countless commands of the software. Want to put your worst enemy's head on a woman's body? Be my guest!

Scouring the internet for inspiration and stock photos has always been like finding the best catch of the day. You go to the market and find the glittering fish fresh from the sea. Then, you buy it and get excited for what are you going to cook up for dinner tonight. Cooking up a work of art has always been the best way for me to have fun and play around with Photoshop. I open the image, sharpen it and splash in some colors like a wild artist throwing buckets of paint on a huge canvass as big as a cinema screen.

Creation and editing go their separate ways. As for me, both always leave me with a sweet feeling of accomplishment. Cooking gives you the same feeling except your taste buds get indulged with all the flavors and textures. As for digital art, your eyes get a sugar rush from seeing the colorful impossibilities that real life doesn't offer. Although pixels limit the depth of your perception, a lot more can happen when you zoom in and savor the beauty and creativity of one photo. Every time I experience this, it gives me chills, pulls my lower jaw down in amazement and widens my eyes to a whole new perspective. Having this in mind, I know I am shrouded in a digital haze, always surrounded by the colors of the wind.

Some of the photos I got to edit were all from the internet. However, the photos you see now were all created and edited by me.

I like the layout of your pictures. They make the entire tabblo more colorful and vivid, not to mention appealing to the eyes. Even though your paragraph was quite short, it jived well with the pictures, making a wholesome tabblo. P.S. You have Devil May Cry 4? That is so cool! :D

I love your pictures! I was never able to actually do stuff like that, with the all the renders and such. You can make normal pictures seem....abnormal? XD In a good way. I wish I could use Photoshop like you :P

It seems you have immersed yourself into this world, and I really applaud you for being a genius in your craft. The essay is well-written, though I wish it could have had a better and stronger focus. Nevertheless, all things considered, I still think that this is one of the best tabblos submitted yesterday. Once again, congrats, Francis. 94.

Your essay gave me a whole new perception of Photoshop. Your essay opened my eyes to see how beautiful and magical photo editing can be. Relating this to playing God and cooking really made it stand out. I was particularly impressed by the way you said that it was like being God. I had only realized this after reading your work, and I've got to say, you made an excellent point. Added to this are the amazing pictures and the great layout. I enjoyed seeing some familiar avatars that you have used on Yahoo! Messenger and many other beautiful ones that I've never seen before. Overall, this tabblo is one of the most amazing ones that I've ever seen! :)

I really admire the work that you do (well since I really don't know how to use photoshop). I love the way you describe yourself playing god and creating dazzling, vivid pictures out of plain old boring pictures, really exciting stuff. I also like the analogy to cooking because in cooking you also create masterpieces, but I don't really agree that cooking just means flavor because truly masterful dishes require vivid detail to how the dish is plated, garnished, and overall how it looks (I'm going off-topic here..). Except for that I really love the way you made this tabblo, excellent!

Francis, this is just another exposition of your great talent in writing, and of course, not to mention Photoshop. Your essay is, as everyone seems to agree, superb. It's a shame you opted not to join VOYC committee. You'd have been an indispensable constituent to their team!

Wow. It's a simple and short tabblo, yet it is very clear and detailed. I really enjoyed this one. The pictures were just a little weird because I thought that the whole tabblo was about anime. But I enjoyed reading this. :D
