Actually, it's Seals, Sails, Seabirds - and a Rabbit...
... but that didn't sound so slick!

Dawson_online said at 4:48 p.m. on Jul 14, 2008: Thank you for all your kind comments.
Aah, Thingomy. You will know this area well - just north of the Eshaness light. A favourite place for killer whales to catch the seals on the rocks. Focal length: 200mm. Exp: 0.00125 sec. although you *must* be able to do much better with the gear that you have! TTFN, R.
Thingomy said at 7:06 a.m. on Jul 15, 2008: @Dawson_online The longest I have currently is 210mm (unless you cound the lenses that I don't like and am tryign to sell). My kit would not actually be any better suited to that job than yours.
1/800 shutter speed would explain why it is sharp.
I've never realy tried to get photos like that, I've never been in a situation that I could since I got my good kit, but it's now on the todo list.
Cheers

Dawson_online said at 4:24 p.m. on Aug 20, 2008: @Hollyridger - Thank you. Yes, I was pleased with that one, although hanging over the edge of a 300 foot sea cliff just to get a photo of a couple of seals isn't the smartest thing I have ever done... ;o)
