Roadside Memorials

stopping and

paying respect

will

continue

 and the

heartaches

will never

end.

stopping at a

Roadside Memorial,

looking at the

remembrance items

family and friends

have left behind.

paying my respect and

walking away knowing

the person still lives

in the hearts and souls

of others.

stopping at the next

Roadside Memorial,

reading the messages

that tell of being missed.

paying my respect and

walking away knowing

the person lives on

in the body and mind

of others.

Great subject...we offten drive by them but rearley take the time to stop and look, maybe because we fear what has happen to them could happen to us and we do not want to look.

I agree with Tony. We also have a lot of road- memorials along the streets, but the most time, we think a bit and than go along our ways.

Life is so fragile. These markers are a sad legacy of life cut short. Who WAS Stinky? And do the dice next to the candle signify that the deceased was a gambler who threw them once too often?

Thank you for this, you made me think.

"Forever Love" that signs says it all. In our hearts. In our memories. Great idea Jude.

These are always so sad to see and happen far too many times. Very wonderful of you to take the time to add your respects.

so sad that we see all to many of these....time taken to pay respects to those who so tragically have gone even for a short while is a humbling experience...

I don't know how you did this; I couldn't have. I've never had anyone really close to me die, and that would be hard enough, ... but when I see these memorials along the side of the road, and see the flowers continually being replaced, or a christmas tree erected every year, I just can't imagine how tragic it must be for those that are left behind.
