What else could you do with it?

Almost a dying art form thirty years ago, roof thatching is now enjoying a revival.

There must be lots of other uses for straw.  Can you think of one?

Stuffing scarecrows with it is my contribution.

Some great suggestions. I wouldn't make a house out of it, Pam. A big bad wolf might blow it down.

You're right, Mike, bricks for the walls are much better. Let's make Hats, like in Firenze; there is also an old florentine song about it. Ciao

I LOVE the look of thatched roofs - too bad that it is a dying art. I am happy to hear that it is enjoying a bit of a revival. Cannot think of any other use for straw that has not been mentioned...

There are many artworks in our country which are made of straw. We have fans, floor mats, baskets, etc. :)

In a stable as a bed for the animals. And roof thatching still is a special profession here in Holland too, http://www.delaat-rietdekkers.nl/
