NE to SF - Highlights

Matt and me...

We saw wild horses running close to the highway... there were no fences anywhere... it was all open range...

In SW Utah we came upon two beautiful fields of wild flowers... one purple and one orange...

I stayed in San Francisco another 5 days before flying back to Nebraska...

and took another 300+ photos... some you have seen...

some will be yet to come... maybe...

Hope you have enjoyed our trip as much as we enjoyed it...  XO

In June of 2005, my son Matt & I took a little trip across country.

We left I 80 in Nebraska and didn't return to it until just before reaching San Francisco.

These are some of the highlights, just a few of the over 400 photos I took...

Enjoy...

The Platte River... NE

Nebraska

Between Vail & Grand Junction, CO

Colorado...

First stop...

Denver to see my other son, Wade...

See the moon... see Matt at the foot of the redrocks...

Utah

Near Capitol Reef National Park... Utah

Utah

Nevada

One morning we ate breakfast in a typical small town restaurant and the waitress asked Matt if he was a movie director... I guess she thought he looked like one with his little cap & beard... and of course a camera in hand.

Right after breakfast we got our first glimpse of the Sierra Nevada, Mountains... That is California...

No... This is NOT a black & white photo...

We wanted to go to Yosemite National Park but when we got to the east gate it was closed because of snow...

It was June 28th!!!

We had to go around the park, north and running out of time, had to skip Yosemite.

We encountered snow and along the highway it was 4' deep in places at the top of the pass.

California...

4 fun days after leaving Nebraska we arrived in San Francisco... with over 400 photos each...

Matt took this picture of me... at a street fair in SF the day after we arrived... My new tabblo photo... haha

I have REALLY enjoyed your trip Jodi!!! Yes, your son does appear to be a movie director and you are the STARLET! I adore the field of flowers with Matt and the Golden Gate bridge in the mist and the very last photo! It would make a charming avatar I think but i love the one you have now too~

Sounds like a great trip, but 1500 miles is a "little" trip?! How many days were you gone?

Jodi, I didn't think you could top that last pic of the GG bridge. Kudos. This brings back memories. When I was in the Air Force in the 70's, I was stationed in Cheyenne Wyoming and also in Northern California. Spent a lot of time on I-80. Drove through Nebraska many times coming back east.
