Alaskan Cruise - Part 1 Departure and Sea Day

My daughter Linda and I took a cruise together in June 2008.  We sailed from Vancouver up the Inside Passage up to Alaska to the destination port of Seward, then sailed back down again to Vancouver. It was a trip of 2 weeks, so I am going to split my Tabblo into section. Today we have

PART ONE - THE DEPARTURE AND DAY AT SEA!

All aboard and ready to sail!

Goodbye Vancouver - we are on our way!

The Harbour at Vancouver

Lions Gate Bridge

Vancouver's North Shore

Leaving the Harbour

Come on down and see our stateroom.  We can take the elevator down to the Dolphin Deck and it is cabin No.1822

Two nice and very comfortable beds

A comfy sofa and chair

Lots of cupboards and a mirrored dresser

We even got ''towel' animals on our beds every night

.......and anassortment of shops

...but the inside is not what we have come to see....let's step outside onto the deck and sample the views....and this is only the beginning....

surrounded by mountains

A disused cannery now no longer in use

Our first port of call - Ketchikan

After our departure and one day at sea, we arrive at the port of Ketchikan.

(see future Tabblo for more photos).

Thanks Pam I am happy to be back again. It has taken a while for me to get back to my photography after our moe and settling in a new place. Having this opportunity for a vacation with our daughter was great as it gave me a wonderful opportunity to collect some new photos. I hope that one day you will be able to take a trip to Alaska to see the wonderful scenery. It has taken me 74 years to get there, but I made it!
