Alaskan Cruise - Part 2 - Ketchikan & Misty Fjord

Our ship docked at Ketchikan

The largest boat at the pier is the one we travelled on to Misty Fjord

Leaving Ketchikan Harbour

Volcanic island en route to Misty Fjord

Entering the Misty Fjord area

Misty Mountains

There were many beautiful waterfalls along the massice granite cliffs

Lichen and shurbs growing on the cliffs

Look up!.......WAY UP!

Low clouds on the mountains

Leaving the Misty Fjord area

In spite of the overcast skies and  showers, we had a great morning at Misty Fjord,  returning to our ship by 12.30 pm in time for lunch and our 3 p.m. sailing

Approaching Ketchikan once again

Back to Ketchikan Harbour

Ketchikan in the rain

Our last glimpse of Ketchikan on the Northbound trip, but we will be back when we sail south again.

Once we left Ketchikan the weather cleared and we were able to enjoy an evening of sunshine and some blue skies. The sun doesn't set untl very late in this area. It is often light until way after 10 pm and almost to midnight.

An orchid from our lunch table

Leaving the Ketchikan area, we are now on our way to Junea...... See Part 3 of my Tabblo

Loving this, Joan. The Fjords are so mysterious and beautiful. Excellent shots. I like the light that the overcast skies impart.

In spite of the mist and rain, you managed some wonderful shots. The waterfalls are spectacular.
