Alaska Cruise Part 5a - Glacier Bay

On day 5 of our cruise we wake up to a day of brilliant sunshine and the glorious views of snow-capped mountains and blue ice glaciers.

We approach Margerie Glacier, one of the highlights of our viewing in Glacier Bay

Preparing for the Polar Bear Swim - the MC throws a bucket of ice into the pool first.

First one in!

Everybody In!!

It's good we don't have these icebergs floating in the pool!

I have so many pictures of Glacier Bay, that I decided to split them into two Tabblo;s,  So my next tabblo with be Part 5b

Great pictures! Alaska is gorgeous. So different from the usual vacation spots. Looks like you had a great time.

I have never wanted to go on as cruise for some reason, but these photos make me yearn to be on taht deck taking photos, swimming and just having fun. I especially like the birds in #4 and all the glacier shots. Eagerly await the next one. BTW you are going to need a vacation after uploading and editing all these!!

Thanks all, for comments.
Pam, I am glad these have inspired you to think that you would like to go on a cruise. I loved it, and it all depends on what you want to do or see. For me it was an easy holiday with a floating hotel room, all meals prepared, the only concern wiith them was making the choices....and transportation included. It is really a bargain holiday with entertainment and everything included. This is definitely not for those sun-seekers, though we had a few nice days. The scenery and wildlife more than make up for the weather for sure. I would do it again anytime.... I like your idea of another vacation after uploading and editing all my photos...LOL....if only...... Sometimes I find making these tabblos very frustrating although I love the concept, it is difficult for me, I find, to get everything in the places I want it.....I wish it were more 'free form' like a page in a publishing software where you can pick up pictures and move them anywhere and rotate a little for effect. Still, it is the only photo site that I know that allows us to put together a story and that is what I like about it.

I have to agree with Pam, I always felt the last thing I would want was to go on a cruise, but your tabblos have shown me that this is possibly the only way one could ever experience so much in such a short space of time. You have certainly given me food for thought..........and Alaska would certainly be top of the list!
