Alaska Cruise - Part 6

This covers Day 6 our evening cruise of College Fjord, and then the second part covers Day 10 a brief visit to Haines.

The reason for this is that on Day 7, we were docked at Seward all day as it was the destination port of the northbound part of the cruise, and the majority of passengers disembaked here, either to continue on a land tour of Alaska or to fly to their home towns.  Here also we boarded a new contingent of passengers who were doing just the southbound trip back to Vancouver.  We didn't disembark to explore Seward but preferred to avoid the crowds disembarking and embarkng.  So I didn't take any photos on Day 7.

Day 8 was supposed to be a return to College Fjord, but unfortunately heavy fog prevented us from sailing into the fjord that day, and it was a relaxing sea day for us instead.  Day 9 was another good weather day and we continued on into Glacier Bay once again and I have a lot of photos for that day, but decided to put together Days 6 and 10 where I only took a minimum of photographs.

It was evening time when we entered College Fjord and the sun was low in the sky and it was almost time for dinner.  I only had time for a few photographs here and they are all taken through the windows of one of the lounges or the Crows Nest.

Day 10 of our cruise -  we leave Seward and our first stop is

the Pretty Port town of Haines

I didn't go ashore in Haines, but my daughter went for a walk and explored the small shops and boutiques in the town. I took a ;rest; day and stayed aboad contenting myself with some reading and taking a few photos of the interior of the ship;s central atrium.

Thank you all for your kind comments. We really did have a great time on this cruise. The scenery is beyond description. The food and service were wonderful and it is just a wonderful place to take photos. The weather of course, was not for those sun-seekers, as it ranged from 9 to 15 or so degrees, and a bit wamer than that on the sunny days. Still with a jacket it was comfortable to be out on the deck a lot of the time, and it didn't stop us making our excursions on shore.
