Everything about this tabblo is stunning. The breathtaking scenery that you have captured in all its beauty and the way in which you have laid it out is excellent. What a wonderful trip you had and thanks so much for sharing it.

Ake, your tabblos are a gift for my soul. Just super. Color, clarity, composition, everything is so fine. Thank you for the follow up. That tent looks barely big enough to store your gear!! :))

wonderful lovely tabblo thanks forthe tour.

Thanx!! About the tent-picture: I took it when Simone was hiding from the mosquitos! And the size (=weight) has to be low since you carry it (and food) in your ryggsack for the whole trip, well at least during the daytime. I had around 28 kg (61 pounds) at start of the trip and 24kg at the end.

Once again, truly superb photos, especially the HDR shots. When you look at your photos you must realize just how worthwhile the pain of carrying your gear was. I certainly appreciate it! Very hard to choose a favourite but the panorama in the top row is certainly in the running. Great work, Ake!

Hi Noreen, we actually bougth a small camera just for this kind of trips; PowerShot S5 IS is smaller and lighter than the Sony A100 we usually use. And the 12x zoom and stitching feature makes it a acceptable replacement.

Stunning Tabblo !!!

Hi Ake, yes, I noticed you were not carrying your SLR. The Canon is pretty impressive, however - i am sure you were delighted with the results. I recently bought a Canon G9 which I like very much.

Ake, this is fabulous! Great job! The photos are terrific, and the scenery is breathtaking. 10 lbs? Just food? ...hmmm, were there scones? :)
Akeke said at 3:40 a.m. on Aug 4, 2008:
haha Holly, No scones, I tried to take brownies with me but they crashed at first stop! As we didnt pass that many "fjällstation" that sold food, we kinda had to bring our own. Breakfast cerial is the most important , then good soups and we also had dried reindeer, raisins, nuts, sugar, tee and some canned protein. Knäckebröd (=hard bröd see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crisp_bread) and Leverpastej (= http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leverpostej) is two of our favourite. :-) Åke

WOW! A very beautiful place. I always enjoy your photography....thanks for sharing.
Rataskaa said at 11:19 p.m. on Aug 5, 2008:
hehehe...poor brownies. :) Thanks for the information...it sounds really good. I've never tried Leverpostej, but I love Braunschweiger. I'll have to see if I can find any here in the States...thanks. But no brownies, and no scones?!? Well, at least you had tea! :) Sorry for all the questions, but what does dried reindeer taste like, and what is canned protein? :)
Akeke said at 3:46 a.m. on Aug 6, 2008:
Dried reindeer is like any dried meat; salt, a bit chewy and tasty. Canned protein I just used as a fancy name for meat in a can, like mincemeat sauce, ham or meat. Its very cool with question, the answers often gives you a lot of info you didnt think of at first. :-) Åke

After our raw new rockies, it is fascinating to see Old mountains, like the cairngorms on Scotland. You capture the drama of those wide sweeping 'straths' so well Looking forward to your S. Africa

Galaxies of hugs to Simone & you :-)

This is a rare opportunity for me to see great photos of Sweden. I can't remember when I last saw any and especially taken in the summer season. Maybe I am not looking hard enough but I will be back here again. A great Tabblo with so much unspoilt beauty. AH!... how refreshing! Mike.
