This palace, at Tsarskoye Selo, (the Tsar's Village), built for Empress Elizabeth, contains the Amber Room, a room covered completely in amber. It was removed by the Germans during WWII and lost. A reconstruction was made from photographs. Photos are not allowed in the Amber Room, but I caught slices of it from outside the room. |
