Just for those who are not Canadian, Tim Horton played hockey for the Toronto Maple Leafs back in the day (dare I say 60's) He opened one of the first coffee and donut shops which quickly grew to be a chain because of the great coffee. Tim died in a car accident many years ago, but his memory lives on in the millions of franchise locations that still bear his name.

Memotions said at 7:49 p.m. on Aug 12, 2008: Just to correct some errors in my notes regarding Tim Horton. He played hockey in the 50's and 60's and died in a car crash in '74. It seems as if there are millions of Tim Horton's Coffee Shops because they seem to be at almost every intersection in major Canadian areas.....but there are merely thousands. There are also several hundred now open in the US, which was news to me. Please excuse my slight embellishment.
