Meet the Mets

A collage from around 1988.

(Taken with a disc camera!)

Last weekend I went to a Mets game at Shea Stadium for the first time in four years.

This is the Mets’ last season at Shea Stadium, as Citi Field opens April 14, 2009.

The same scene, circa 1990.

Citi Field occupies part of Shea Stadium’s parking lot.

The Mets put a ribbon over the Twin Towers after September 11, and never removed it.

Circa 1990

The Mets beat the Marlins 8-6.

Good game. Thanks for putting in the old photographs-they really add to the whole layout.

Nice Saul. I can tell you're going to miss the old place. So far, it looks like Shea may live beyond the end of the regular season.

It's so sad to see another "lady" of a bygone era being put to rest. You did a great job capturing the old gal. I've never been to Shea and never will now, but at least I got to see it through a fans eyes. Thanks.
