TGIF- SHABBATH SHALOM- gutte shabbos!!!

To make sure is are no misunderstandings... I'm not Jewish, but some of my friends you see in the pictures are.

Now dinner is ready to be served! And everybody can have a relaxing time doing nothing than having fun and a good time together! SHABBATH SHALOM!!!

Entering shabbath

Then there is the eveningprayer. One small part of it is the 'Shma'

 

Shma Yisrael Adonai Eloheynu, Adonai Echad.

Baruch Shem Kevod malchuto le'Olam va-ed.

Hear Oh Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.

Blessed is the name of His glorious Majesty for all eternity

Lighting 2 shabbath candles, meaning the 10 commandments are twice in the Bible, to keep them & remember them. After that 6 psalms (Tehilim) are read.

Kiddush: setting Shabbath apart from the other days of the week. The man takes the kiddush cup filled with sweet red wine in his right hand and says: It has been evening and it became light, THE SIXTH day. Thus the heavens and earth were finished along with everything in them. On the seventh day G'd finished His work which He had made. God blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy because on that day God rested from all his work which He had created.

Then follows washing the hands. After that you break the challe, that's very sweet white bread. You put salt on the bread and everyone takes a piece eating it and wishing each other SHABBATH SHALOM! Then Shabbath is officialy opened!

hartstikke leuk gedaan, met uitleg en mooie (en gezellige) foto's. en ik zie je ook, not with the parrot, but with a glass of wine with yr girlfriend (dan weet ik 't voor de ontmoeting in her park- shwarma & biertje..)
