Great job! The networks are not going to do this and I'm glad you did. I hope your city fairs well under the assault it's going to get this week and those heavily armed-police folk don't have much to do except gather up gifts of daisies from the visitors.
Pkeener said at 10:39 a.m. on Aug 24, 2008:
Hey Stan. Yeah, I hope to get back today to shoot some of the rally. Unfortuneately, i will be a twork next week and miss a lot of it. Yes, Bobbie. Quite a trhowback.

Pam--you got the REAL THING...all the before action. The cop giving the peace sign..... too cool. This is an excellent piece of photo journalism. I commend you for this view of history we might not see anywhere else. Looking forward to more from you. PEACE.

Great behind-the-scene work. Another PEACE sign for you - cool.

being from a different country its a bit hard for me to appreciate the situation but some elements are universal... its nice to see the policemen giving the peace sign and the bush + dick tshirt was an interesting touch..as always great tabblos

Wow, great work, the police are graceful, a work well done Pam
Abking said at 10:31 p.m. on Aug 24, 2008:
This is exciting, seeing all this gathering of interests and force and counter force. Friendly appearing policeman flashing peace sign, and then in the photo below him, it looks like one of the cops is making a pow pow gun sign with his finger. Good work. It's going to be an interesting week.
Lifequest22 said at 10:54 p.m. on Aug 24, 2008:
I lthink you're right Allen about the coming week, and if we're lucky, Pam will so us more of these types of great shots.

Pkeener said at 10:57 p.m. on Aug 24, 2008:
Hey guys! yep, editing as I speak. it was so much fun being there in the thick of it. And, i haven't even made it to the Convention Center yet! Probably won'r. too much to see out on the streets in the civic center. Yes, Leftie, Stay tuned...

PAM--our very own Tabblo-on-the-scene-reporter.
Oldbogus said at 11:08 p.m. on Aug 24, 2008:
Good reporting, Pam! The Green Party of Colorado refused to support Recreate 68 due to the possibility of violent protests. But we're in there somewhere!

Keep us posted; I am forwarding these to the GPCO e-list.

Hey Charlie! Thank you. These were just a qucik few from yesterday. I took tons of the rallies today, and as you know, there were maybe as many police as protesters, standing ready, with the tear gas and billy clubs.
Marcif said at 11:36 p.m. on Aug 24, 2008:
Interesting bit of photojournalism, Pam! I agree with the second commenter. I hope it all goes peacefully. I like the peace sign cop!

KEEP THOSE PIXS COMING PAM, THINK OF YOURSELF AS SOMEONE REPORTING THE NEWS OF THE DAY DOCUMENTING HISTORY OF DEMOCRATIC COMVENTION, A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY.
Mariusblack said at 1:33 a.m. on Aug 25, 2008:
this is actually a breath of fresh air for me, pam- seeing not the usual flowers or sunsets and portraits here in tabblo. a healthy dose of reality and social responsibility. i've been wanting to do something like this for a long time now but demonstrations here in our country tend to be a little bit dangerous. maybe in time. thanks for sharing this one. keep up the good work. =)
Pkeener said at 9:48 a.m. on Aug 25, 2008:
Thank you, Tony, that's why I made it down there. Glad you are viewing hem and I apprediate the encouragement. Marci, it did go very peacefully, if only by intimidation. Marius. please don't put yourself in harm's way! I really love this kind of photography. Thank you for the great comment!

Karsten said at 12:13 a.m. on Aug 27, 2008:
think it´s all said - Great Job Pam - and although i am not quite sure what´s going on there - hope that it ends peaceful as this policeman wants it too... i do like the fact that this is quite fotorealism that as many others said - you will not find in the news...keep on going Pam - looking foreward what´s going on in the convencion-centre!
Pkeener said at 9:25 a.m. on Aug 27, 2008:
Thank you Karsten. The police and the Protesters were preparing for the week of activities surrounding the Democratic Convention, which is being held in my home town, Denver.

Thank you Jane!

It does look like the 60's and still we are at war. The process is "ELECTILE DYSFUNCTION".
