The Path .........

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth.

 

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same.

 

 

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

 

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

One of my very very favorite poems ever...Robert Frost was going to be a farmer~ instead he chose to be a writer and poet...lucky for us.

The great thing about this image paired with this poem is that it really captures the subtextual meaning beneath the words, which is different than what most people think the poem is about. This person is reflecting back, and saying that they took the road less travelled, and that it had made all the difference. But this is about human nature, and it is human nature to believe you have taken the road less travelled, no matter which path you choose. Looking back, almost everyone believes they have chosen the road not taken and that "they wouldn't have done it any other way." Your photo beautifully depicts the 2 paths - which are identical - there is no difference and it doesn't matter which one you choose, because looking back, you will believe it to be the right choice that made all the difference in the world. Great job!
