On a perfect day, in a circle of oak trees in Shiloh Park
 
Zion, Illinois hosted the 15th Annual Potawatomi Trails PowWow
 
The Grand Entry
 
Much respect and honor bestowed upon the Native American veterans
 
So many flags, so much patriotism
 
Fierce
 
Pensive
 
Traditional
 
Proud
 
So much beauty
 
Four-legged friends
 
The Potato Dance!
 
Of the nine couples, only three finished the Potato Dance
 
It's not as easy as it looks
 
It's always so wonderful to see the children participating with such enthusiasm
 
You can almost suspend time and imagine similar scenes taking place hundreds of years ago
 
Every generation represented

Wonderful set. I like seeing the elders and the vets being honored. It's so good to see the age old Native American traditions being kept alive.
