Powerful Owl
 
Powerful Owl - Ninnox strenua. Pairs occupy a large permanent range in forests, woodlands and gullies. Sometimes they can be found in large public gardens.
 
This one has a Brushtail Possum in its talons. Possums, Gliders, other birds and mammals form its main diet. Powerful Owls are confined to a narrow strip of the south east coastal ranges of Australia and are classed as uncommon.
