La fanciulla del west on the big screen    

The Finnish National Opera invites you to see Puccini’s dramatic La fanciulla del west on big screens on August, 29. The live broadcast from the Opera will be shown in three Finnish cities, Helsinki, Jyväskylä and Rovaniemi. Welcome!

The event will be hosted by Jaana Pelkonen in Helsinki (Senaatintori), Salla Paajanen in Jyväskylä (the dock), the General Director of the Finnish National Opera Päivi Kärkkäinen in Rovaniemi (Lordin aukio) and Minna Lindgren at the Opera House.

The event will begin at 18.40. and the performance at 19.00. Its duration is ca 3 hours and 10 minutes, with two intermissions. Before the opera and during the intermisissions short documentaries about the opera and the people behind the stage will be shown. La fanciulla del west will be sung in Italian with Finnish subtitles.

The role of Minnie will be sung by Francesca Patanè, Jack Rance by Juha Uusitalo and Dick Johnson by Mika Pohjonen. The Artistic Director of the Finnish National Opera, Mikko Franck, will conduct the opera.
