Sang spreads stuff out on the motel bed and shows me some of her dehydrated food. Yummy! (I have to admit it didn't lookthe kind of menu I would want for a month but but what was I gonna say?) Grrlpup took the sensible course of curling up and napping while looking very cute. The following morning Sang went and poked about under the car hood being a mechanical detective.

That is the old alternator Sang is holding and the next pic shows the shiny new one installed. Then we all went for an ice cream treat. Louie got to lick out the last drops of my milk shake and was in doggie heaven.

Apparently if you are a real engineer you don't need a proper work bench but can make do on a motel room window ledge to construct a solar panel charger. Other pics show the packs being loaded into the car at the motel and our intrepid heroes having a pensive breakfast.

These last shots are all at the California/Oregon border PCT departure point. The weather was glorious and the views spectacular.
