Requiem for life

For a pet finch fifteen years old

Requiem for a finch

I believe that every silent bird

once more will fly~

That death is an open door

and  I

the one that hates to say "goodbye"

will learn to embrace

the change

with grace

and so will you

my  precious child

with eyes so blue

Trust God with all your loves

big and small

with little birds and human hearts

His love is over all~

Rhonda 1996   for my children

Thanks Linda~ a tiny bird kind of represents a lot of things to me...some won't understand how we could get so attached to a little speck of fluff and feathers but...well, I know you understand~

I am sorry for Laurel...:( the poem is so tender and beautiful, brings a tear to eye.;)
i do understand, i cried the other day when the first butterfly did not make it...it flew into the pool, and a wing got injured, even tho i rescued it gently... i felt TERRIBLE and i immmediately ordered a screened in house for them as they emerged....so they will be safe i hope they all emerge before this hurricane we may get......pray it moves OFFF

Oh, making a tabblo for the little guy helps me feel better~ thank you so much James and Teo...my pet birds get buried in jewelry boxes...I never understand when someone refers to a pet as "just a dog...just an animal" Well...different perspectives I guess but...I wouldn't want to be their lover...ya know?
ConnieL said at 3:10 p.m. on Sep 5, 2008:
Oh, Rhonda, this is so 'you'...our sweet, tenderhearted Welshchick. Animals become part of our family ...sorry to hear about your Laurel.
Welshchick said at 2:31 a.m. on Sep 6, 2008:
Thank you Connie~did anyone ever tell you that you are very comforting and uplifting? Well, you are ;^)...one of those kindred spirits that I was drawn to right when I met you~~~
Welshchick said at 4:06 a.m. on Sep 11, 2008:
Some cool news: Our precious little Laurel is being placed on an international registry...he IS one of the oldest zebra finches ever! This makes his passing a little easier for us~~He had lots and lots of love!
