So, last Friday Christine and Kevin checked into Fountain Valley Hospital @ ~11 PM and was nearly sent home. Turned out that although Christine's contractions were off the charts (that's in terms of pain and length of each contraction), she was only 2 cm dilated. The nurse took pity on her after she dilated to 3 cm in about 45 min and admitted her. To the shock of all, only ~35 min elapsed before she was fully dilated at 10 cm. Needless to say, Christine never got the epidural she wanted. There was neither time (at full dilation it was too late for any pain killers) nor the anesthesiologist (he was in another c-sec surgery and wasn't available). She had to just go for it and deliver the baby the old fashioned way. She probably bruised Kevin and her mom's hands for life during the process. 2.5 hours after being admitted to the hospital, Christine and Kevin's little bundle came into this world. At birth, Lochlan is nearly his father's carbon copy, with deep ocean blue eyes (Christine must have carried some funky recessive genes). Now he is beginning to look more like his mommy a bit - he has her eye shape, tip of nose shape, and lips. |

Now Lochlan has been home for 5 days. His eyes are still a shade of blue, but now with tones of silver gray. Our pediatrician does not think he will end up with brown eyes. We'll know for sure in about 3 months. We've started a pool for the gambling folk for bets on the final eye color...will they stay blue? green? hazel?
You may have noticed some of Lochlan's mischievous smirks. We think he's already planning his first party for when mom and dad are out of town. |

Lochlan does get fussy sometimes, but for the most part he's a little angel adored by all (kinda comes with the territory of being the first grandchild of both families, LOL :D) |

Here he is, being burped by his mommy and showing a little shoulder. |
