Every few months, I find an opportunity to return to this small Mennonite community near Lancaster. It is incredibly beautiful, and the people of every age work very, very hard. Durlach is little more than a few crossroads and farms, one of so many simple places where families live largely as they did 200 years ago. And yet, change is clearly coming. Note that one of the young girls, photographed in the side view mirror, is carrying a cooler for her lunch...and her younger sister has a baseball mit!
