Obrigado, PAM! Just arrived back home with lots of new photos, and couldn't resist. These were taken in Viçosa (where my Mom lives), last week. I love old, decaying amusement parks - and this one was a playground for my eyes.

Ah, que linda. Bright and bold. And a little rust and sleeping pup--nice combo of shots, Eduardo.
Eduardo.affonso said at 10:28 p.m. on Sep 16, 2008:
Thank you, JORMA ("visual pupl fiction" is a perfect definition!) & LINDA (since when are you speaking Portuguese?).
Pkeener said at 10:37 p.m. on Sep 16, 2008:
My fave is 13 of the Sleeping Dog. or is it dead?? anyway, great stuff, edu.
Pkeener said at 10:37 p.m. on Sep 16, 2008:

Eduardo.affonso said at 10:40 p.m. on Sep 16, 2008:
PAM: #13 is the saddest pic of this series - and it's my favorite, too. Don't worry, that dog was just sleeping (it played with me for a while, that's why I know). I'm glad you recognized me (now without beard, again).
Pkeener said at 10:44 p.m. on Sep 16, 2008:

Jigs said at 11:25 p.m. on Sep 16, 2008:
The art and the illustrations are superterrrrrrrific!!! Love 'em, so cool!!! I've never looked closely at the "ferias" that come to our provincial towns — I should! I bet I'll be pleasantly surprised too at the artistry I'd find.
Pkeener said at 11:26 p.m. on Sep 16, 2008:
wot? did somebody say PULP FICTION? Hunny Bunny would like it here.
Wildthing said at 3:44 a.m. on Sep 17, 2008:

very artistic, Eduardo! Great!
Eduardo.affonso said at 5:23 p.m. on Sep 17, 2008:
Thanks everybody for your kind comments!

JIGS: I'd love to see the "ferias" ("feiras", in Portuguese...) in Pinoy provincial towns - they must be as exciting as ours.

ANNELIES: This is dedicated to our dear Andre. because he is the master of the decaying, rusty side of life (which I also appreciate so much). And also because I read one of his comments or posts, somewhere on Tabbloland, telling he missed me. It would have melted my heart if I had one...

IRA: Yes, the clowns always find a way to remain, if not only in our memory.

LINDA: I thougth nobody would recognize "Little Mermaid". She changed a little bit since she moved to Brazil and adopted some of our dearest traditions (including huge buns), uh?
Eduardo.affonso said at 5:25 p.m. on Sep 17, 2008:
CHARLES & JUDE: Thank you a lot for including this one among your favorites!
Liliana said at 6:26 p.m. on Sep 17, 2008:
¡Hay otro vampiro sin ojeras...! Estas fotos tienen la atracción del rechazo, de lo desmesurado, exagerado ¡¡sin quererlo!! Jamás había visto una sirena con la "bunda" al aire libre. Más allá de cualquier palabra. Con perro y auto azul ¿dormidos, somnolientos, muertos...? La atmósfera de feria latinoamericana está bien lograda, pintada.
Debdog said at 12:46 a.m. on Sep 18, 2008:
like the old carnivals gone a little mad ;) love the little doggie
Debdog said at 12:48 a.m. on Sep 18, 2008:
nice to see you again!!!!!!!!!! :) glad the dog is ok...it seems sad , a rough life
Abking said at 1:03 a.m. on Sep 18, 2008:
Saturated colors of twisted fun! What's the vampire doing out in the bright sun?
Eduardo.affonso said at 8:41 a.m. on Sep 18, 2008:
LILIANA: Acho que a moda de vampiros com olheiras é coisa do tempo do Bela Lugosi. Quanto à sereia com bunda, acho que esta é um transgênico (teoricamente, peixe não tem bunda, né?). Pensei numa atmosfera mineira, mas podemos expandi-la para brasileira e chegar a latinoamericana, sem muito esforço.

DEBBIE: "Old carnivals gone a little mad" is a good definition for the mood of this amusement park. And you are right: living in old, decaying parks like this must be really rough.

ALLAN: Bootylicious mermaids and sunny vampires are part of Brazilian fauna, didn't you know that?
Sirnicolay said at 4:43 a.m. on Sep 19, 2008:

absolutely wonderful, Eduardo!!! I hope, the Dracular didn`t bite the dog!
Alcamac57 said at 6:51 p.m. on Sep 23, 2008:
Carésimo,

Que bom ver as suas tabuletas novamente. O mesmo gosto esquisito ( em espanhol) de sempre.Vou ver se me animo e publico também alguns retratos que submeterei à vossa apreciação.
Nesta série gostei muito das fotos . Lembra a minha infância. Gostei especialmente da sereia e do seu auto-retrato com sorriso draculiano.

Inté.
