Stained Glass of Sainte Chapelle, Paris

Sainte Chapelle, Paris

A small gothic chapel is surrounded by the Palais of Justice. Built by Louis IX in 1240-48. It has two levels; the ground level being rather dark and close, the second one having tall stained glass windows and its here the Holy Relics are kept.

This is a great Tabblo. The glass is beautiful but that last picture really grabs me.

It is the sight of the tall skinny windows that lights up my memories of Sainte Chappelle, but the rose windows are incomparable. Wonderful.

These glass windows are the soul of the chapel. They show us that nothing, nor even the most sophisticated art, can replace the power of light.
