Arsenal Football Club and The Emirates Stadium

The Emirates Stadium, located at Ashburton Grove in North London, is the home of Arsenal FC. With a capacity of over 60,000, it is one of the largest stadiums in the United Kingdom. The stadium was oficially opened in 2003 after four years of construction costing £430 million.

The idea for a new stadium was originally pioneered by Arsene Wenger, manager of Arsenal FC who felt that to compete with the biggest clubs in the world as well as the new money coming into football, Arsenal needed a stadium capable of generating higher profits than its old 38,000 seater stadium at Highbury. The stadium now generates around £3 million profit every home game and has won countless awards for its design as well as its benefit to the community.
