Inside the sub... cramped... claustrophobia here I come...

In January 2004, returning home from Nashville & The Outer Banks, NC, we toured the USS Alabama & USS Drum in Mobile, Alabama...  Of course I took a few photos... ;)

(I'm amazed that I only took around 300 photos total on this trip... )

Above - a poor attempt at combining 3 photos to show the whole battleship...

Left the top part missing in the photo above... and where I was standing when I took the photo at the right.....

Right... taken from the top... see our pick-up & camper in the parking lot below...

The photos below were all taken inside the battleship...

Once I was at excursion on a submarine. And me has shaken as the people there live. In the closed space. It was very similar to your photos. I understand, what is it weapon, authority and power of the state. Any country. But as it would be good, if all this was necessary for nobody. It is simple philosophy. Photos excellent and interesting. Especially office of the doctor:)

Nice to see round the ship & the sub. I couldn't handle being cooped up in a sardine can for too long. Only 300 shots the entire trip!! You showed amazing restraint:)

I toured the Yorktown Air Craft Carrier near Charleston SC. It also had a submarine. It was a very educationsl tour. I didn't realize how big the ships were and how little room the men had to live.
