From Passu, the last village in Northern Pakistan and the last stop on the Karakoram Highway which links Pakistan to China - you can take a 8-hours hike around Yunz valley, to visit two breathtaking Glaciers -
Flowing beneath Passu (7,500m) and Batura (7,795m) massifs, like a grand cloak of ice, these glaciers are a spectacular sight.
Passu glacier is white, and Batura, coming up below, is Black. |

The above is the windy and very curvy Yunz Valley which straddle the two mountain massif and glaciers. |

From a peak point, peering down at the Passu Village below, a very friendly frontier Pakistan town - last stop before China.
We spotted a LIZARD on the trek.

Batura Glacier (57km long) is one of the largest and longest glaciers outside the polar regions.
The lower portions can be described as a grey sea of rocks and gravelly moraine. |
