it is an eternal battle, but sometimes the combination of light & darkness can give stunning results, just look at your photos! wow.

The battle is between night & day... and it is beautiful... I couldn't pick a favorite as I would be listing 3/4 the photos... excellent job... love them!!

thank you, everyone (Jodi, Pammie, Eric, Ema, Robert, Susan) for appreciating the photos even if most of them are faulty. i was shooting at low light, with my tirpod on the sand and the wind blowing incessantly. lots of camera shake. but still thank you for getting the concept. =)

Wow! ... I haven't a clue how you accomplished these, but they are incredible! The depth and detail in every shot just pulls me right in. ... Faulty? My gosh Marius... I can't fault you for seeing yourself how these can be improved, but for the life of me I can't.

Dar,thank you very much! =) the night shots were taken at slow exposure, 30 seconds with varying aperture depending on available light. as for the faults, mostly noise that i couldn't get rid of and blurs due to camera shake. that's why i chose to use a smaller format for this tabblo, so they won't be as noticeable. heehee! =)

I think there's a fine line between noise and detail, so I'm glad you didn't get rid of it. Obviously your shots still captured the detail and depth or else it wouldn't be so noticeable in the small format. When I viewed these in the best fit for my screen, there was only one where the noise got in the way of my enjoyment of it, and that was with the first shot; all of the others still held their integrity, and my favourites, Numbers 6 and 20 didn't suffer at all. It's very interesting though how the detail was still there within the noise and the bit of motion blur. And these are still magic, even though you revealed your trick. I appreciate your honesty; I learned something because of it. Thank you. :)

Dar, thank you for taking another look at these photos and commenting in detail. i agree, the first shot really is the biggest casualty in the noise war but somehow, that's my fave pic here. so i let it stay. as for the trick, you should try it next time you go to the beach. gives the waves that smoke-like, dreamy feel. =)
