AFRICA by Umair Ghani

AFRICA CALLING

A continent shrowded in mystery and romance, Africa immediately grabbed my soul. I share these portraits from life which is not very impressive if looked from the developed world's eye view. Yet these people and colors and glimpses never fail to impress. This is my very humble salutation to Common People of the world, which I believe are the real beauty and glory of LIFE!

Where there's an impressive face, there you are... Portraits are the most difficult photos to be taken, in my opinion, and you make portraits like anybody else on this site. It's always fascinating to travel through the landscapes of these eyes, mouths, skins, colors.

oh, Umair. So great. I agree with Eduardo. You have a 6th sense when it comes to portraits. You connect with your subject, yet remain objective. May I ask, do you use a flash for fill light? they look so natural, but luminous.

I salute you and the people here, and the Glory of life. I odnt' have a favorite. All are wonderful. The graphic impact on the last one is stunning.

thanx my dear friends. well, i hate to use flash at all and even when i need it, i try my best to avoid. here, i got the right amount of light as the overcast sky offered some light to give these sad eyes a sparkle! regards!

i not only see the superb composition and lighting that you always bring in your photos but i also see the trust you developed with your subjects which allowed you to make the connection, that's what shines through in your portrait photography.
