INCHWORM

Found this little guy just outside our front door last night. After saving it from almost being eaten by our little wiener dog, I brought it inside to get these shots...

Inching along on the kitchen counter

This is zoomed way in on one of it's crazy little feet. I wasn't expecting details like this - it looks like some kind of traditional Asian design or something

Scooting it's booty along...

More shots of it's feet while it relaxed on my finger

So no joke - I think it was tired and falling asleep. Once it found a good spot on this leaf, it stretched out into comfortable looking positions and just stopped moving. Look at how the one back leg is holding on while the other is stretched out behind it.

You can see those relaxed back legs again here

Zoomed way in on one of it's front legs. They're a little bit scarier looking than the back ones...

It repositioned itself later so that it actually had it's back legs crossed. That's when I became convinced it was trying to sleep. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's totally what it looked like.

What a strange looking creature, but the extraordinary miniscule detail is so fascinating
