Cool pictures but we've already seen this is a special place! Thanks for finding the quirkiness!

This is a cool Tabblo Linda! Great captures here! Kelly

I have to go to Ybor! a lot of exotic arty sights, faves 1) the green velvety couch 2) the pink/orange window w/ the palm tree reflection and the lone golden candelabra on the sidewalk! I can't "make out" the sign "the dirty sixme"?? (think "Ponderosa" ok?...)
Andre. said at 7:58 p.m. on Oct 6, 2008:
Not sure what comes, but I’d vote for #3 it (kinda [LOL]) gives me a cool feeling and colors blend together so well. (Forgive my French). I love it. Well done, Linda.

Another cool tabblo. The difference between this area during the day time and tha party hours are amazing.Great capture as always.
Andre. said at 7:59 p.m. on Oct 6, 2008:
Oops..sorry..#2 that is:)

Nina seems to be enjoying herself... :)

I think it says 'the dirty Shame', and I can't for the life of me figure out what the sign is for.... a very cool rusty one though, and I love it's blue plastic fasteners! Great shot of the pepper shaped lamps with the colourful peppers paintings on the wall! ... Have you been learning how to selectively remove colour? Don't tell me though; I like it that if you are, you're good enough at doing it that I can't tell for sure :) ... Very cool effect with the frames of colour and the colourless background. I say background because I find it interesting how it fades away and becomes just that, even though it's all part of the original photo. ... odd that candelabra being there, isn't it?! ... Oh and I forgot, my favourite shot is the one of the brick and concrete wall with the contrasting vivid greens and rusts. ... Just because I like looking at it. :) I like the title too.

the lone candleabra. killer.
Lifequest22 said at 8:13 p.m. on Oct 6, 2008:
Thanks, good people.

Jodi--a little photoshop.

Oldbogus--Ybor is one giant quirky area. Guess that's why I love hanging here.

Kelly, , Sandy-thanks for stopping by.

Leftie-- It's "The Dirty Shame." The green sofa is in the Ritz Theater which is being remodeled. I lucked out with the candelabra--A florist was delivering flowers to the Italian Club and set the candelabra down for a few minutes and it made for a great shot.

Andre--I'm not sure what comes next either.
Cowgirl said at 8:20 p.m. on Oct 6, 2008:
very cool tabblo lots of great shots and you had some fun with effects layout is great ...
Lifequest22 said at 8:34 p.m. on Oct 6, 2008:
Leftie--Nina always enjoys herself. :)

Pam-- Right place at the right time.

Bobbi--Thanks--yeah-enjoyed playing with the effects.

Dar-- The Dirty Shame is a Bar. I like that wall too--mold and mildrew make for great art against bricks. Thanks for your keen observations.
Debdog said at 9:15 p.m. on Oct 6, 2008:
one of the best YBor sets yet..cool place I gotta go!
Ira said at 9:47 p.m. on Oct 6, 2008:
Cool! I see a composition in each your photo. A very interesting combination colour and b/w
Lifequest22 said at 11:41 p.m. on Oct 6, 2008:
Hey--thanks Deb. Thank you Ira. There is much color in Ybor.
Abking said at 11:58 p.m. on Oct 6, 2008:
I like them all, I like how they go together. Velvet sofa with electric cord, palm tree in window, reflections that might be double exposures, elusive colors, candelabra waiting for a piano, or maybe a bus, take it as it comes.
Lifequest22 said at 12:06 a.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
Allan--thanks for the high compliment. Definitely a mix of shots. Should have had you write captions.
Karsten said at 12:08 a.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
just a great set !!! my special one is the black and withe with the colour-paintings - and if they sell the candelabro...just let me know.. ;-)
Snooway said at 1:03 a.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
Interesting variety of shots. The one with the green sofa stands out and also the one with the woman and the statue:)
Wildthing said at 2:45 a.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
A bizarre ( as in wacky) mix. LOVE it. So much to take in. Every time I scroll through I see some different aspect. The Dirty Shame sounds a good place to hang out; probably full of Mickey Rourke types. And those boots have done some serious walking. I'd like to know all about whoever owned them. The effects you've used are subtle & not 'over the top'. I think too much PS and the like can detract from photography. I prefer CGI in stuff like Jurassic Park, not Photographs. But what do I know?
Mirella said at 3:23 a.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
A very special Tabblo! A lot of creative photos. I like it wery much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Krisu said at 4:09 a.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
Cooool! Like this kind of playing with layers and all the stuff Photoshop (?) can offer to a creative mind!
Leftofcenter said at 6:36 a.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
guess I'll be the one -again- :)

Bravo, Linda!
Lifequest22 said at 10:53 a.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
Leftie--you nailed it. Yes the title is from the Doors. Thanks for posting the video link.
Thanks all. MIKE--Tuesday nite is biker nite at the bar. And your right, Mike--just suble effects. I felt like the quirkiness of the photos would work with a little PS.

Karsten, Cindy---The candalabra shot happened when i was about to cross the street. I had less than a minute to capture it before it's owner snatched it back up.

Den--thanks--they are all yours.

Thanks Sue, Kris. Mirella and Doreen. The woman with the Statue is Nina, whose quirkiness fits in perfectly with the rest of the images. I featured her in my Laughing Cat Tabblo.
Chilla said at 11:24 a.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
Quirky, interesting, cleverly constructed tabblo! No idea how you do it but it is very effective!
Pkeener said at 11:54 a.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
that's the best piece of advice i can imagine. This is such a great tabblo. the whole "feel" of it. I had to look twice at the disintegrating playbill, because it's behind glass! lots of nice reflections. the green couch is so Deco on that tile floor. all add up to delightful found shots.
Siagian said at 12:10 p.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
looks like you have captured the essence of Ybor City here with your fun and humorous tabblo! good use of effects!

may i ask how you did it?
Lifequest22 said at 12:57 p.m. on Oct 7, 2008:
Of course. Did it with layers but don't remember the details. I was using it to learn and practice with layers.

According to the American Planning Association,Ybor's 7th Avenue grandeur, makes it one of the nation's 10 Great Streets.A stroll along 7th Ave. is a journey through the old-world charm of a community of cigar factories and the richness of its cultural melting pot.

I wish I had taken these photos. The number 22 is not the only thing we have in common, believe me. The 12th pic is one of my all time faves on Tabblo (and even out of Tabblo).

Liberace has left Ybor.
Is Ybor a surreal state of mind or do you have to be surreal to live there? Pass me my fur lined cup.
Finally, I really like this tabblo, truely excellent.
Lifequest22 said at 5:34 p.m. on Oct 23, 2008:
LOL, John. Liberace would have loved Ybor. Actually, I think it's a little of both. I spent many years working and hanging in Ybor--so i guess that says something about me. Thank you for your praises, John.

John, Pam, Eduardo, thanks for making it a fave.
