Auntie, how much ticket you pay for the bags, huh?

Indiscriminate behaviour like this, or like walking through the door held opened by a stranger without saying 'Thank you', like cutting the line at a long taxi queue, is rampant.  Are social graces a rarity? Is chivalry dead?  Is courtesy a way of life only for the little children?  Even in that area is a rarity.

God help us!

yeah...we need God's graciousness and love in every one of our hearts, in everything that we do! somtimes, our misdeeds may not be so obvious...like that auntie's. =p

Interesting subject for a tabblo. What I think is so fascinating about photography is that it allows us to record "reality " and at the same time to record our reaction to it .

Most unfortunately, this reality is often ugly and distasteful. Putting bags on seats in a crowded bus is just plain belligerent. Problem is is that nobody says anything or does anything. Sad fact.

I like Charles' statement! and also find this to be rampant, as well. I can't tell you how many times this happens. But, I also have been the reciepient of many a gracious act in my life, so I try to keep that in mind. great photo, Patrick!

Dear Pam, I thank GOD for all the little graces I experience in life. I gain positive energy from my students and I try to show them the proper social graces everyday. I see them practicing it in their daily interactions with one another and with the other adults around them. I get disappointed when I see other people just being blatant to others and belligerent to kindness. It saddens me.

haha that time I told an auntie...."Hey Auntie can you take your mee soto away I want to sit down " She gave me a piss off look!!! What only.....as if I owe her and I am not entitled to have a seat :(
Patrickterencelim said at 2:10 a.m. on Oct 31, 2008:
Dear Linda,

I am glad that you spoke up to that auntie. Most Singaporeans would just be too shy to say anything and just let the inconsideration pass. Sure you are entitled to that seat ... like everyone else. But the mee soto and these auntie's bags did not pay extra for the seats they occupy.

Oh yes...can't stand such behaviour...well sometimes I just shove my big bum onto the seats after saying excuse me and staring at them....hahah! And most of the time it works.
