I'm invited by Cathay Pacific to join the H.K. International Horse Races at Sha Tin Racecourse. Horse Races is very popular in H.K.. Here, You can feel the fever about the horses, just as the fever of politics in Taiwan. |

H.K. is going to hold 2008 Olympic Games & Paralympic Games Equestrian Events. You can see not only the huge tracks, but also horse swimming pool, horse hospital, and everything horses need here. |

top: with a horse hat, I became a target for photographers.
left: a visit to tracks before the races.
bottom: in the seminor of the 2008 Olympic games. SLEEPY!!! |

There we go. Horse Swimming Pool.
Lengh: 30 metres; width: 9 metres; depth: 3 metres.
This pool can help keep a horse fit without putting any pressure on its legs.
Daily average use of the pool is 500-600 horses. |

left: Solarium facility. This facility is located inside the Equine Swimming Pool building. It can help dry horses , promote blood circulation and protect horses from skin infection. |

left: This is a retired race horse and that's why I could touch him. He was so warm, gentle, soft, and beautiful.
bottom: the place where horses get their shoes. according to the staff in the workshop, horses usually change shoes every 3-4 weeks. |

Bottom: annual horse auction organised by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. The hightest price in the auction was 7.5 milliom H.K. dollars which broke the records at H.K. international sale.
Right: empty betting centre ---- no race at that day.

Finally, it was the racing day.
I bought two races. In the first one, I won 1.7 H.K. dollars. In the second one, I lost 20 H.K. dollars.
No good at all.:(
But but..... I got a beautiful hat, a gift from Cathay. |
