DIVERSITY! Love the child with the ringlets. But #7 is the Money Shot.

Do I have to confess it's my favorite, too?? (Btw, what does "money shot" mean?)

Eduardo.affonso said at 10:32 p.m. on Oct 13, 2008:
ANDRE: I don't think we live either in a "colored" or in a "dark" side of the world. We live in the colored or in the dark side of ourselves. It's a matter of choice, in fact, but I agree that living in Rio makes things much easier if you want to see the bright side of life.

ANNELIES: Thank you for two "bwanas" in a single tab. The more provocative photos are coming soon, don't worry.
Eduardo.affonso said at 10:55 p.m. on Oct 13, 2008:
PAM: Thanks for the "money shot"... Just found it on the internet: "A money shot (also called a "money-making" shot) is a provocative, sensational, or memorable sequence in a film, on which the film's commercial performance is perceived to depend".
DanMan said at 11:23 p.m. on Oct 13, 2008:

Lindo e colorido! Amei a tattoo... vc pediu permissão para tirar a foto ou as lentes da sua câmara são siniXtras mesmo?
Eduardo.affonso said at 9:02 a.m. on Oct 14, 2008:
Pedi autorização não, AGNES. As fotos foram todas roubadas mesmo, com o auxílio das minhas lentes siniXtraX. Essas e muitas outras que ainda serão postadas (se eu concluir que não irão ferir suscetibilidades).

LILIANA: Eu ia fotografar também a procissão de Nossa Senhora Aparecida, que foi em Copacabana, no mesmo dia - mas dormi até mais tarde e acabei só chegando a tempo do lado profano do feriado. Aguardo o mail.

LINDA: Nice.

ANDRE: We'll talk a lot while I introduce you to caipirinhas, batidas and other Brazilian beverages that will make you forget vodka for a long time.

DAN: Thanks for stopping by.

ANNELIES: Great video! Hope your baby will smile at you and you'll come to Rio (with Andre, Pam & Linda, why not?).

PAM: No, I don't think it's Leftie on pic #8. Those are two guys, as far as I can imagine.
Pkeener said at 9:28 a.m. on Oct 14, 2008:

Du GENIE dans ces images. Fabuleux. Merci Edu.
AliDar said at 3:58 p.m. on Oct 14, 2008:
Do you know what shot grabs my attention here? ... Not just one with the great perspective looking up at the gal with the vibrant pink mohawk and polkadots, not just the juxtaposition of that with the security fellow in the shot a few beneath it, or the wonderfully captured glamour and flaunting of it in the shot beneath that, and it's not just the cute little fellow with the sand in his hair and with such a serious look on his face. It's the photo of the gold woman with those eyes. I don't know if it's a reflection of a statue, a poster, a mural, or what it is, but your photgraph of it, it being removed from it's context, your framing of it, is excellent, and I'm drawn to what you must have been drawn to. It seems futuristic, bladerunner'ish, but her eyes... There's something to hold on to in them, and you just want to believe. ... NICE. :)
Eduardo.affonso said at 6:40 p.m. on Oct 14, 2008:
Thank you a lot, BOBBI, IRA, SHIRL, THIERRY & DAR. It's always a pleasure to notice you spent part of our time with my photos.

SHIRL: You are right, light in the tropics is much more intense. When I visit Europe or North America the first thing I notice is how "smooth", subtle, soft is the natural light there, compared to what we have here.

DAR: The image that captured your attention is part of the campaing against homophoby. Violence against lesbians & gays is a problem here, and it's not a crime (racism is a crime, sexism is a crime, discrimination is a crime - but not if it involves sexual orientation...). There is a law to include homophoby (homophobia?) in the list, and that's one of the purposes of this parade. That's why this beautiful woman's face is "hurt": to show the scars of violence.
AliDar said at 7:11 p.m. on Oct 14, 2008:
Homophobia is the correct spelling. I thought her eyes held some meaning, and now that you tell me the reason behind it, I am in awe of the courage of everyone in that parade. Pride parades here tend to be more of a celebration than a defiant statement of our rights, and I've noticed a lot of talk from young gays and lesbians that they don't really understand why the older among us make such a fuss about being seen and heard. They take their rights for granted, and no longer fear to speak out against those still not given us. But it's not quite time to put down the placards is it? Thank you Eduardo.

Clydo said at 2:37 a.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Great colors! i can just feel the momentum building up...

Talking about the light, I never realized that the light can be different in other parts of the world...I keep on thinking, now why do landscapes/street photgraphy around the equator/tropics look different from the "top" or "bottom" of the world? Come to think of it Edu, light in Europe and North America is smooth, subtle, and soft. Hmmmm something to sit back and think about.
