I love everything about this tabblo: the theme, the pictures, the quotations and the "couples" listed at the end, specially Barbie & Ken.

ANNELIES: Thanks for commenting!

MIKE: Yes, love is in the air, everywhere you look around...

PAM: Sorry, I forgot some memorable couples. Thiis song is about all of us, don't you think so?

AGNES: My favorite couple is (obviously) Negão & Benedita.

:*)
Eduardo.affonso said at 12:50 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
"Beijo quente", DEN? Behave yourself, dude, some people can use Babelfish and they won't believe Russians & Brazilians are just "serial kissers".

ha-ha! Eduardo, nobody call me 'dude' yet! :D

I only say: "A kiss is still a kiss!"

Love your tabblo!

lovely old and new strory, Eduardo!!! The old Lady reminds me on my grandma. I loved her very much, for me she was my Mother!!!

Eduardo--Love your presentation. Those last few images really speak to me. And Vita Sackville-West And Violet--really cool couple. And Vita and Virginia. Glad Frida & Diego made your list.
AliDar said at 2:44 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
All I've got to say is this: XXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOO! and of course, Thank-you! :)
Liliana said at 4:03 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
¡Gracias, Eduardo!
Dante e Beatrice!!!! Perfect!!
A kiss is a kiss is a kiss (sorry, estoy plagiando... digo "citando").
Pkeener said at 4:21 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
wel, i was going to mention that, but i thought you had forgotten. Sigh. Well, We will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have Paris.
Pkeener said at 4:21 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
wot did Den say??
Liliana said at 4:52 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
Debo confesar que hay parejas que desconozco totalmente... Quizás falten Smith & Wesson. ;)
Ótimo o beijo quente do Den!!! "Quente"...¡de Rusia!¿A cuántos grados será...?
Eduardo.affonso said at 4:59 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
DEN: Yes, a kiss is still a kiss and, as Freud once said, "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar"...

ANGELA: That old lady reminded me of my Grandma, too. She seemed so serene among those noisy, young people, looking at all that chaos with the eyes of someone who has lived enough to know that life is too short to be wasted.

LINDA: I read "Portrait of a Marriage", by Vita Sackville-West, when I was 17, and it was one of the most important books of my life. I forgot to include Virgina in that list (of course I forgot many, many emblematic couples). Feel free to suggest some other names!

DAR: Is that all you've got to say? (sigh) I do like your looooong comments, and was waiting for an essay or, at least, some 10 or 12 paragraphs... :)

PAM: I prefer not to translate what our dear Den said. It was something about a hot kiss (but you know how Russians are, uh? they kiss a lot, and Brazilians do the same, so... a kiss (even a hot one!) may be just a kiss...)
Eduardo.affonso said at 5:03 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
LILIANA: Smith & Wesson, Hanna & Barbera, Dolce & Gabbana, Simon & Garfunkel, Tom & Jerry...
(PS: Que casais vc não conhece? Talvez te sobre cultura clássica (Dante & Beatriz) e falte cultura pop!).
Debdog said at 6:05 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
love knows no bounds, great example of live and let live...the older woman seems quite unperturbed, compared to the disgusted look on ?cops face?
Everyone is having fun, they look happy and colorful :) too much hate in the world already, thanks for the LOVE...:) <3
EMA said at 6:36 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
Love is in the air for sure! Den's comment and your answer, made me give a good laugh. LOL
Liliana said at 6:40 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
¡¡Besos!! Para estar a tono con el Tabblo...
Andre. said at 8:06 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
I was just listening to that song 20 minutes ago. Very cool tabblo. Great colors and celebration of life all around. Very Brazilian...I think.
Liliana said at 8:48 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
Como habrás notado, no percibí para nada la rferencia a la canción, para mí era una música, no una letra. Ahora que acabo de escucharla, entiendo tus referencias ("a kiss is a kiss", "as time goes by"...). es verdad, me falta cultura musical internacional... ¡¡Gracias!!
Liliana said at 8:51 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:

Abking said at 11:27 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
Great photos and the song really adds to it. Cheech and Chong, Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas, Britney and Kevin, Mutt and Jeff, Barack and Michelle!
AliDar said at 11:43 p.m. on Oct 15, 2008:
Alison is very touched and appreciates being listed in the dedication along with such illustrious company, ... especially Negão & Benedita. :)
Pkeener said at 1:21 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
well, I would like to be the judge of that, edu. first hand
AliDar said at 1:47 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Judge of what Pam?
Eduardo.affonso said at 1:51 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
I wouldn't like to admit my ignorance, ALLAN, but I had never heard of Mutt & Jeff and Cheech & Chong (had to google them). They seem to make quite interesting couples. Gertrud & Alice were already listed (between Abelard & Heloise and Marge & Homer). I will add Barack and Michelle (she will make a great first lady, uh?) but are Britney & Kevin still together?
Eduardo.affonso said at 1:52 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
I was about to ask her, DAR...

Negão & Bené also appreciated to be listed along with Ali & you and Romeo & Juliet.
Leftofcenter said at 2:07 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
dunno about Brit (but probably not) but Madonna and Guy are over. You forgot Starksy and Hutch. Dupond et Dupont (from TINTIN) KC & the Sunshine Band, Lennon & McCartney.................
Abking said at 2:07 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Oops, I missed Alice and Gertrude. Britney and Kevin are long gone, but that's part of the story too, not so much them as them, but them as symbols of potential flare-out. Besides being comic characters, Mutt and Jeff, because one was tall, one short, can be used to refer to any seemingly mismatched couple. Michelle will be the best first lady since Jackie O.
Eduardo.affonso said at 2:17 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
ALLAN: Michelle will be the best first lady since Martha Washington...

LEFTIE: We are talking about real couples, soulmates, not mere partners. That's why I didn't include Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid, Hanna & Barbera, Barney & Fred, ham & eggs, Will & Grace. And we don't accept bigamy here: John is already with Yoko. OMG, I forgot one of my favorite couples: Pinky and the Brain!
Leftofcenter said at 2:20 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
what's a REAL couple Edu??? no one knows what goes on behind closed doors..... I'm sure Lennon loved McCartney way more than Yoko who split them up!
Lifequest22 said at 2:40 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Hey-don't forget Newman and Woodward.
Swedfinn said at 2:52 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Love has no rules or limits. It is simply LOVE!
AliDar said at 3:43 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
I can't think of any notorious couples, but I'm enjoying reading what everyone else is contributing.
Eduardo.affonso said at 5:31 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
ANNELIES: Real couples are those that argue, say awful things, shut doors, break dinnerware - then kiss, apologize, promisse never to do that again, fix the door, buy new china. Real couples swear true love and fake orgasms, lie about why they arrived so late last night, bring breakfast in bed when there's an anniversary to be celebrated, forget birthdays, buy unexpected gifts, write love quotes in the mirror, check pockets and wallets, cry together, laugh together, have secret lovers, feel guilty because of the secret lovers. I don't think Paul would ever fake an orgasm with John. Yoko probably did, because she wouldn't like to hurt John's feelings. That's why John & Yoko are a real couple, and John & Paul aren't.
Leftofcenter said at 5:48 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Pretty bwana, Edu! I'm impressed. Have you ever been one half of a REAL couple? Looks like I'm in one, who would've thought! This is what I call a REAL comment. BWANA my friend!
ps I did you know about me kickin' in doors???
Leftofcenter said at 5:48 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
correction: "HOW" did you know...
AliDar said at 6:00 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Huh... Now I know how Ali and I got on the list. :)
Eduardo.affonso said at 6:03 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Women kick doors once a month, at least. And they kick husbands (fiancés, boyfriends, lovers) more often. So, if you're a woman, then... it's just a matter of logical reasoning. Or male intuiton, whatever.
Leftofcenter said at 6:09 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
that "once a month" sounds suspiciously sexist...
Eduardo.affonso said at 6:12 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Good one, DAR!

Dunno, JORMA, I think there are some rules and limits: close the door when you're using the restroom, don't leave underwear in the floor, don't smoke or jump out of bed immediately after sex, don't talk about former lovers/partners, don't look at 20 dresses and say you have nothing to wear tonight, don't be jealous of the dogs...
Eduardo.affonso said at 6:13 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Sorry, ANNELIES, I shoudn't have said that "once a month". I was wrong. I should have said "once every 4 weeks". Sometimes, depending on the moon, it happens twice a month.
Lifequest22 said at 6:28 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:

AliDar said at 6:53 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Just hanging out to see what's said next, no pressure to be witty and intelligent though. <G>
Lifequest22 said at 9:21 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Ok--what do you want to talk about.
AliDar said at 9:27 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
LOL, didn't actually mean for it to be a conversation stopper! ... Edu, you are still sounding like you are attributing a woman's anger to something physiological, and not because the husband deserves a good kick. ... The biggest rule I think is to be able to see past the underwear on the floor, not be angered if there's the occasional smoking or jumping out of bed immediately after sex, realizing that former lovers/partners can still hold some meaning, acknowledging that your irritation over how your partner says she has nothing to wear even though she has 20 dresses is coming just as much from your not understanding that it's important for her to look good, as it is from her simply wanting to look good... And above all, if your partner is jealous of your dogs, there's gotta be something lacking for them to say that. ... k, think I'll help myself to drink on the other tab. :)
AliDar said at 9:29 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
Hey Linda! :)
Eduardo.affonso said at 9:46 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
I totally agree, DAR, in spite of thinking the opposite of you... :) Well, living all by myself for a long time turned me into sort of a selfish eremite. I'm not used to wait for anybody, to pick underwear on the floor nor to listen to things like "this bed is too small for you, me and a couple of dogs". Maybe I should just go to the other tab, drink a little bit, stop worrying and just be happy. May I join you?
AliDar said at 10:22 p.m. on Oct 16, 2008:
With all this wisdom floating around you'd think we'd all have the most excellent and functional relationships! <G> ... and of course you may, it's your tab! :)
Liliana said at 6:42 p.m. on Oct 17, 2008:
¡¡¡Ja, ja, un eremita!!! Me hizo sonreír.
