Au Train Falls and Forest Lake

On a recent trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Blackcat and I visited Forest Lake, which is staved off by a dam controlled by the power company.  The photos on this page were taken by both of us.

One of the coolest aspects to the Lower Au Train Falls area is this wall of runoff, which we affectionately refer to as The Wall of Oook.

Lower Au Train Falls sees varying amounts of water fed by the dam upstream, but the rocks always seem to be wet and covered with a layer of plantlife.  No matter how tempting it is to wade, I can only imagine it's slimy and dangerous out there.  Best enjoyed from dry land.

Thank you both. Sometimes you can't take a bad picture because everywhere you look it's beautiful. :)
