The Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar, Istanbul

The Grand Bazaar is like a labarynth of covered streets. It has areas for leather, carpets, jewellery, ceramics, glass and many other small and interesting stores.

This is where we had a Donner Kebab!

It is about a fifteen minute walk from the Gran Bazaar to the Spice Bazaar. This is smaller and has stalls of spices and lokoum (Turkish Delight) as well as other stalls.

The Bazaars are a colourful and interesting part of life in Istanbul.

I could spend hours in these "bazaars" (you've seen my bazaar in Holland) I can smell the spices (and the kebab!!), feel the hustle and bustle. yr layout really takes us there.

I can easily imagine the aroma of the spice stall/shop. Must have been remarkably intense. Photos you can "smell"! Remarkable. (PS: the rest is marvelous as well. Thanks)
