On the street in the old city, Istanbul

There were many street vendors selling chestnuts, bread, sweet corn and fresh pomegranite and orange juice as well as turkish rugs.

There were also cats that congregated in particular areas in groups. They appeared well fed and we saw restaurant owners putting out scraps for the cats

Nice photos. That black & white cat looks as though its seen a ghost. Lot of cats in old Constantinople:)

Thanks Margalit and Mike, the spitting cat was ensuring that a feral dog three times its size would not get any food scraps whilst the rest of its group ate!

Cats always know where to go! And so do you! These phots are so great, Celia, I am enjoying this whole travel series. I cant imagine taking photos of such far off places. love the tabblo colors, as well. your photos are excellent, as always! Can't wait for the next one.

Remarkable photos. I very much like the cats. Especially white and red. Lovely ancient places. They do not know vanity of the large cities and central streets.
