Very compelling imagery Marius! It is interesting that people can still smile despite trying times, kids especially

Vivid, touching, powerful photos. You could also have called this series "Little Giants" - that's exactly what these kids are.

wow great photojournalism here, i can't say i;d be smiling amidst the squalor and the temptation to fall in to despair! I hope they make it out.

i always STOP LOOK and LISTEN to your tabblos, M!! reminds me of the books i read as a kid The Boxcar Children orpahans living in a boxcar, hiding out from the authorities to keep their family together.

Love #6 and #18, but the kids faces are what bring this home. I keep thinking, wow, how did you get these shots? and wow, so sad. excellent photojournalism. #26. so sad. But their smiles shine through. you captured that.

thank you for the various responses i got from this tabblo. i've been meaning to shoot at that railroad crossing for a long time now, especially when the demolitions of the squatters' shanties was at the peak, but it wasn't safe so i opted to wait it out. it's sad to see people living in this condition. somehow, the people with power did a wrong turn somewhere so the people ended up here. the only consolation in my going there i think was the laughter i shared with the kids. it's immensely gratifying to see them smile in spite of what they're experiencing. it also makes me think, if the people there can smile even at their plight, who am i to complain with my petty "monumental" issues?
