Weird and beautiful mixture of textures. Excellent work, Edu

¡¡¡¡Glorioso!!!!

Thank you, ANDRE. Pedra do Anta is a small village where my Mom was born, and where part of my family still lives. I've been photographing this old church so many times, and there's always something new, something to be found.
Eduardo.affonso said at 8:34 p.m. on Nov 10, 2008:

Every new angle can become a new photo with the different points of view, Eduardo. And i love the from above POV of the pews.

These compositions of ancient church are charming and are very beautiful. Each of them expresses in herself olden time and religion.

THIS IS VERY BEAUTIFUL,
Abking said at 11:03 p.m. on Nov 10, 2008:
Textures and patterns and the surfaces so worn and touched: it's a quiet, orderly world to focus on the cosmos. I used to swing incense things like the ones in photo #6 at high mass when I was a kid.

BEAUTIFUL !

ANDRE: Of course you have to come to Brazil, sooner or later. All you have to do is get your visa, buy your tickets and I'll arrange the rest. No, no vodka included. I'll introduce you to beverages you've never heard of.

ANNELIES: I just pushed that button, as always...

BO: I love these "rustic", little country churches. They have an innocence that cathedrals and rich churches have lost (or never had).

IRA: You are right - churches like this express express very well the simple, deep religiosity of the provincial people.

DEBBIE: Having new eyes every day is a challenge, but it's the only way to find such hidden treasures. I have been missing my cam, too.

BARBRA: Welcome to my tabblos! I'm glad you liked this one.

ALLAN: I used to envy the kids who were in charge of swinging incense during the mass. I could never understand the meaning of it (well, to be frank, I never got the meaning of the whole thing - blood, wine, bread, glory, hell, hallellujah). I see churches now as a theather, but they still touch me in a very deep way.

CHARLES & MIRELLA: Thank you!

PAM: I was fascinated by these stairs - so uncomfortable, yet so metaphorical, just like the stairs that were supposed to lead us to heaven (or down to hell, we never know...).

Very beautiful church

Beautiful effect with the last picture. I thought that the aisle of the Church was moving forward my screen. Haha! Very beautiful, Edu!
Moabjeeper said at 9:24 a.m. on Nov 11, 2008:
Fabulous church and perspectives. I wish I could photograph it.
Amazing structure and design. Do the bells still toll?
Eduardo.affonso said at 10:33 a.m. on Nov 11, 2008:
LINDA: Those photos were the most difficult to take, because I couldn't use the tripod. I will try some new variations next time, because I did like the results.

PACHITO: Yes, it's a very nice old church.

JAMES: I fel the same when I scrolled the side bar!

ROBERT: The bells are silent now, because the clock is not working. My cousin Ofélia (you will see her in some of the next photos I'll post) is trying to gather money to have it fixed. She and my mom still remember the different tolls - to call people to attend mass, to invite people for funerals, angelus etc. There will be a ball next November 29th - it's a good chance for you to photograph the church and contribute :)

Eduardo, were are Mary and Jesus?

What for a different kind of light/colours on the stone floor.
Eduardo.affonso said at 2:56 p.m. on Nov 11, 2008:
DAVID: Thank you!

WEIMAR: Pic #1 shows Mary with baby Jesus, but I took some other photos, not included here (they will be posted later, don't worry).
