Located just off the Kancamagus Highway, Lower Falls is another famous White Mountain National Forest attraction. Although the waterfall is not large or particularly powerful, the many cascades and pools of the area area great place to take a break. There are several small beaches and many places to wade and swim in the river. Be aware, however, that this waterfall is one of the most heavily visited in the White Mountains. |

Along with nearby Lower Falls and Sabbady Falls, Rocky Gorge is a popular warm-weather attraction for visitors on the Kancamagus Highway. Like any admired waterfall, it can be overrun by persistent shutterbugs, swimmers, and other visitors. |

Despite the crowds, this 20-foot plunge is a highly photogenic waterfall set on a sunny river that is worth a stop if you are in the area. A bridge has been constructed to give you a great view. You do not need the bridge to see the falls, though; the river is easy to navigate around.
Although swimming in the gorge is prohibited, you can swim both up and downstream. The river does have a rather fast current, but many rock obstacles create dormant pools perfect for a quick dip.
