These first few pix are from Roatan in the Honduras.
Here we did some sea kayaking and quite a bit of snorkeling.
We also took a hike where we saw all kinds of plants (eg almond trees, lemon trees, papayas, mangos, coconuts etc)
A small green lizard crawled up my left leg. I started screaming and kicked it off. What did it do? It started crawling up my right leg. I screamed and kicked it off a second time. Everyone in our group (except for me) was giggling. I'm sure I looked like a mad woman. |

At night on the boat we had dinner, then attended shows and karaoke.
We met some very interesting folks on the trip.
My favorite part of the whole trip: We had a huge window above our bed. We could look right above our heads and watch the sea waves go by in the middle of the night.
We could see 'neon' eels at times. Now that was interesting. A few times we could see other cruise ships.
MOST of the time we could see only waves and stars. |

The next set of pictures are from Belize.
You'll see pix from upscale Belize neighborhoods along with other neighborhoods.
You'll also see pix from some Mayan temples. |

There are many churches in Belize.
Children are required to attend school. Half of the school funds are paid for by the government; the other half of the school funds are paid for by churches.
Many denominations here; Catholic and Protestant both. I noticed quite a few SDA churches (Seventh Day Adventists). |
|
There were many homes only partially built.
Mortgage interest rates here are 24%
Thus, locals here build as they can afford (by paying cash). |

Next was our very fun day in Cozumel. We took a speedboat (below) to a private beach and snorkeled and biked. We biked to a place with hundreds of crocodiles (and many iguanas).
Given my history with lizards in Roatan, I avoided the iguanas!

We chose hammocks and cervezas on our beach while some folks were kayaking.
On the trip back (via speedboat) we were offered tequila and sprite slammers.
I danced the cha cha slide while our boat was moving at 80 mph. |

We are moving at 80 MPH when this picture was taken
Can't you see Bill's hair blowing in the wind? |
