A peasant mother and her son suddenly obtained large amount of golden eggs. These eggs were laid by the regular family hen, much to their surprise. Jack took the hen home one day from the beanstalk in their backyard. The pair have been spotted today making a small fortune from a carton of the glittering eggs. They have also begun to purchase numerous items ranging from handkerchiefs to silk clothing.

Jack and his mother were very surprised when the hen began to lay solid gold eggs. "One day, it just stood up, left its spot, and there it was!" she explained. "I quickly called Jackie to look at the mysterious, shining egg that had been left there."

Witnesses from neighboring homes claim to have heard axe-chipping sounds followed by the loud thunder of a falling beanstalk. A passerby spotted the lifeless body of a giant in the large crater beside the fallen beanstalk.

Jack and his mother have recently purchased a new house, furniture, and clothing. Neighbors say they begin to resemble nobles with their choice of fashion and lifestyle.

The previously poor mother and son now serve as a beacon of inspiration to their fellow townsmen.
