Noreen--Love your title--it's so perfect. And all the ducks are just flat out ignoring the warning. The first photo is a wonderful image. And the solitary bench captures the solitude of the snowy woods so well. A fav for me. The snowman is a perfect Frosty, too.

I wonder just how many ducks it would take to break the ice? Great title and these look excellent in this larger format. ... My favourite shot is of the path with the trees silhouetted against that perfect blue grey sky. ... That snowman must be huge; it has rakes for arms! :)

VERY evocative. I love the tree opposite the bench - It is too tall for me to see it in one go, but it is wonderful nonetheless...Happy Hogmanay !

TAMMY, happy to see your comment, thank you; LINDA, glad you liked the lone bench shot. I often sit there in the summertime; ANNE and DAR, the snowman was huge but not that huge, the rakes were child size! The pathway looking westwards is one of my favs but must say it looks better in the original; THEHULK - ducks are wonderful; CELIA and THIERRY, appreciate your dropping by. Happy New Year to you, too; MICHELLE, RHONDA, MIKE, TEO, JODI and JEAN - I love all your comments, a huge thank you to you all. Have to share something - these photos were taken during a late afternoon dog-walk. I had an extra dog over Christmas. Hanging on to three dogs, especially near thin ice, and keeping the camera still was no mean feat!!!

Have a blessed New year,Doreen.I really love the fifth photo as I am into trees. We don't have the pleasure of making a snowman in Fla but can make sand sculptures at the beach.
Hollyridger said at 2:36 p.m. on Dec 31, 2008:
Doreen and Sandy, thank you for commenting. Sandy, we don't normally have the "pleasure" of snow in this part of the world either - this has been an unusual phenomenon.

Your winter shots leave me fascinated, Noreen, never having experienced a snowy winter. I really love the atmosphere in your shots - dramatically wintry yet not at all gloomy.

My favourite is that golden wilow and bench. I can imagine it in late spring. It is a very old tree, but its shape is glorious. Mike.
