The Skies Between Los Angeles and Bucharest
 
I'm assuming we were over Arizona for these shots. No announcement was made, but it sure looked Grand Canyony.

I took these shots from the airplane during our flights from Los Angeles to Bucharest

in the second week of December, 2008. I was so happy I happened to get a window seat as gorgeous view after gorgeous view unfolded throughout the flight. Enjoy!

 
Once we got over the midwest, most of the country was under some serious cloud cover.
 
The clouds pretty much continued over the whole Atlantic Ocean.
 
We finally dropped down through them for our layover in Frankfurt
 
The airport in Frankfurt. Obviously, it was a pretty cold, grey day there.
 
But we were back up between the clouds soon enough.
 
This is probably my favorite of all the cloud shots I've ever taken from a plane.
 
Passing over the Alps. You can see the reflection of my camera strap in the bottom right of frame. Oops.
 
And finally, descending into Bucharest , Romania.
 
I was struck by the strips of farmed land as opposed to the big, square, quilt-like look of farms in the U.S.

Fantastic views, the clouds are amazing! I think the big river is the Danubio (so we call it). Bellissime photos.
