The snow is HERE. NOW, Linda. We're sat watching it fall outside. Great tab. Looks like the north end of Clearwater. Wish the sand was under our feet right this minute:)

I couldn't find the snow but I'm thrilled that Eric found my Tabblol. What a great way to start of 2009 with a TOD. Thanks Eric.

I'm glad you all weren't disappointed that there was no snow--just sand, sun and fun. Yesterday was a glorious day to visit the beach. We lucked out when we came across the Kite festival and finished the day at the Hurricane beachside restaurant for a bowl of clam chowder and the best grouper sandwiches in the area at Pasa Grille Beach.

Thank you everyone for your comments. Yes, DEB, Florida is a true treasue land and we are fortunate to live here. Please don't run over any tourists with your new jeep. LOL

Leftie, the flip is for you. And the Canadian and British flag are for you and Wildthing. We were stuck in traffic when I spotted the flags.

Jude--your San Diego Winter tab inspired me to visit the beach this weekend.

Eduardo--hope you'll visit Tampa one of these days. Ybor City is waiting for you and your camera. And you won't need Mukluks here.

And Sandy--thanks for indulging me. Now if I could just get you to actually take your camera out of the bag and use it.

And thanks to those of you who have invited me to visit your Winter Wonderlands, but I think I'll pass.

Thanks all for stopping by here at the beach.
JuDeck said at 10:58 a.m. on Jan 19, 2009:

CANDYCANE said at 11:41 a.m. on Jan 19, 2009:
No, no snow there. Just nice warm sand and the ocean to enjoy. I could spend all day on the beach on a day like that. Very nice tabloo. Wish i were there. Rhonda
Ericf said at 11:59 a.m. on Jan 19, 2009:
I had just finished shoveling snow! Great formatting and use of photos in the formatting. I love all the photos, but the last one, with the birds flying through, is my favorite. Great work.

This place is perfect without snows! Very beautiful! Excellent photos and sight on the world!
Lifequest22 said at 1:43 p.m. on Jan 19, 2009:
ERIC--Hope it warmed you up somewhat. I don't miss shoveling snow at all.

EMA, PAT--yes, the winters here are outstanding. However, the summers are often unbearable and i think that's when a trip to Maine or Canada would be welcomed.

Thanks Ira and Rhonda.
21-gramm said at 1:45 p.m. on Jan 19, 2009:
Linda, is it your 1st TOD this year?

My congrat!!!!
AliDar said at 1:47 p.m. on Jan 19, 2009:
There are short little tubby gulls in Tampa. :) ... Annelies may have said this is the Tampa she knows. The beach, the sun, the colour, and whatever, but this doesn't look at all like how it's normally photographed. I love the third and fourth shots; they're very you. ... And what's that teddybear doing hanging from the kite anyway? :)

And I'm with Eric, the last photo is darn near perfect. ... actually it is perfect. It sums up the whole tab. I hope the joy and peace that you felt when you took it last you a very long time. :)
AliDar said at 1:50 p.m. on Jan 19, 2009:
Oh! Hey; TOD!!!!! YES!!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO..! :D
Lifequest22 said at 2:09 p.m. on Jan 19, 2009:
Hey Den--yes, the first one in 2009. Thanks

Dar--Thanks. I always find that the beach has a special peacefullness in the winter. Actually, the beaches are mostly in the St. Petersburg Area, which is just across the bay from Tampa, but the entire area is known as Tampa Bay--like the football team--Tampa Bay Bucs.
Tishfish said at 2:54 p.m. on Jan 19, 2009:
I am so pleased to say that there isn't any snow here now, but it will come, I have no doubt. Wonderful to see pics without it ! ! !

Abking said at 11:13 p.m. on Jan 19, 2009:
Great mix of beach and the details that make a beach. Creative lay-out, fine photos and it feels good! This is a TOD for sure.
Pkeener said at 11:51 p.m. on Jan 19, 2009:
feeels good to come back from traveling and see this TOD. Toowwaaaasssaaabbii.

seriously. your tabblos have this quality that is hard to describe, but in the realm of connectivity/imagry/intuitive/intelligent and just plain Cool photography..they hit al all cylinders. KILLER. my fave is the second to last. something about the random placement of the gulls out to the horizon. now excuse me while I grab my raybans for a second look!
Chilla said at 6:46 a.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Super tabblo full of interest. There is a sense of movement here, great TOD!
Babooshka said at 6:50 a.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Wow, veryvery good! I luv the pics!
PhotoPop said at 9:14 a.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Oh, thanks a lot Linda. We have the snow you seem to be missing so much. Various shades of white and greys are on the palette du jour here in Boston; while you bask in the full spectrum of colors in t-shirts. Congrats on TOD. HUMBUG.
Pkeener said at 9:40 a.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
excuse me while i crawl inside your tabblo for awhile and bask in the sun. kiss the sky.
Lifequest22 said at 11:21 a.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Thanks Pam. It was a gorgeous day on the beach. The seagulls were hunkering down as the wind was chilly. But not too chilly with the sun shining.

Jean-Emile--Thanks. So, if I knew you had hijacked the snow I wouldn't have had to go to the sunny, delightful beach looking for it on Sunday.
Ania said at 12:04 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Beautiful photos and such a nice place! Can look at them again and again. The last 7 photos are superb!

... My toes are cold...
Lifequest22 said at 3:40 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Thank you Ania. Please come back as often as you like. Jorga and Dar--it's cold here today. A cold front came in last night. I have the heat on.
AliDar said at 3:45 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
it's 8.6 C here, that's 47.5 f. Which means our heat doesn't come on as often as it should. So my toes are cold. ... Maybe the sand in this tab is still warm. :)
Leftofcenter said at 3:54 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
are you two done???? its -10°C here (which is 14F) and we've turned off the heat, put our flips back on and drinking cold lemonade!!!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!!! seriously, Dar-ling, 8.6°C!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My toes are ice cubes!!!
Bravemoonbearer said at 3:59 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Dar,its coler here in Tampa than where you are.We need more than sand to keep our toes warm.We need something stronger than lemonade to keep us southerners warm. Its hard to believe that we were at the beach this past Sunday.Oh that Mother Nature.
AliDar said at 4:01 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
.... Maybe we should find you a hot toddy for you to dunk your tootsies in...
AliDar said at 4:02 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Okay, hot toddys coming up for everyone! And I'll get a fire started.
Leftofcenter said at 4:09 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
what's a toddy??????????????
Lifequest22 said at 4:11 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
sounds good , Dar. Bit I'll have mine in a cup and will drink it. Hey, At least we're not freezing walking down PA. Ave in DC. in a dress like Michelle Obama.
AliDar said at 4:19 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
1 tbsp honey
3/4 glass tea (my dad just used hot water)
2 shots brandy
1 slice lemon
You can use rum or whiskey instead of brandy, and instead of lemon you could use butter when you make it with rum.

Linda, I missed Obama's inauguration speech this morning. I hope there will be something of it on the news tonight. Don't think our channels will show the details you're getting there though. We only have basic cable. <g>
Lifequest22 said at 4:24 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
It was a FANTASTIC, moving speech. I'm sure you can watch it online--try CNN.
Leftofcenter said at 4:26 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
thats a toddy?? i drink my tea like that ALL THE TIME!! ;))
AliDar said at 4:38 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Yep, Cnn seems to have it all, even the parade. :)
Lifequest22 said at 5:13 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
If my plants don't survive this freeze--oh well. It's survival of the fittest.
Lifequest22 said at 5:17 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Just a little north of here it will get into the low 20s-high teens. Might as well be in Canada. 30s here.
AliDar said at 5:25 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Shhhhhhh, Annelies might hear you. <grin> Just cover your favorites, and keep safe and warm . ... I'm thinking not many homes in Florida have fireplaces though....
Leftofcenter said at 5:31 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
amiga, one mukluk coming at ya! DUCK!!
Lifequest22 said at 5:53 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Lots of homes have fireplaces. Throw the other one, I could use them. What size shoe do you wear. You probably have petite feet.
Leftofcenter said at 5:56 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:

Lifequest22 said at 6:03 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:

AliDar said at 6:19 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Annelies, I was going to say Thank you, now my toes are nice and warm, but I think you need them more than I if those stilettos are your other boots! ... Will you come over to my place and break up the crusty snow when I next need to shovel it? :)
Bravemoonbearer said at 6:19 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:
Brrr, just finished covering my plants but the strong winds are not cooperating.I'll take that hot toddy now or several of them.My shoes need a second pair on top of wearing two pairs of long socks.Dar,I need to have those mukluks too.
Leftofcenter said at 6:20 p.m. on Jan 20, 2009:

Mike. weather is beautiful today. But we had some severe cold and the frost killed my bananas. We do have some Lines of hills in the Ocala area.
